Brain implants help paralysed man to walk again

The operation to restore Geert Jahn’s movement took place in July 2021. Professor Bloch cut two circular holes on each side of his skull, 5 cm in diameter, above the areas of the brain responsible for controlling movement. Then she inserted two disc-shaped implants that wirelessly transmitted brain signals—the intentions of Gert Jean—to two sensors attached to a helmet on his head.
